Concrete Construction Foreman(Commercial)

YOUR ROLE

The Foreman at Gerber is responsible for partnering with the Project Manager to successfully complete the assigned project. When a project requires a Superintendent, the Foreman directly reports to and supports the Superintendent. As a Foreman, you are expected to work as part of a leadership team (Foreman, Super, PM, Safety Officer, etc.) to plan and execute the successful delivery of a completed project for Gerber’s clients. You are responsible to communicate with and utilize Gerber Office Management for business purposes (HR, P.M., Payroll, V.P. of Ops., etc). At times, you may also be responsible for communicating and coordinating directly with clients, subcontractors, engineers, inspectors, suppliers, etc.

As the Foreman, you are directly responsible for mentoring, training, leading, and supervising your team. Your team may, or may not, consist of General Laborers, Skilled Laborers, a Leadman (or Leadmen), Equipment Operators, Welders, etc. 

• Manage the execution of the assigned project as part of a team.
• Mentor, coach, lead, train, and supervise your team.
• Ensure that work is completed according to applicable specifications.

YOUR CAPABILITIES

• You must be willing to perform all of your work in harmony with Gerber’s Safety Program.
• You must have OSHA 30 training or be willing to complete the training.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED training or willing to complete the training.
• Current Class A CDL and acceptable driving record.
• DOT Medical Card.
• Expert ability and skills to proficiently accomplish various construction tasks required to complete the project.
• Ability to read and understand project plans and specifications.
• Experience with leading a team to accomplish a construction project.
• You must have the ability to anticipate the changing needs of the project (manpower, etc.)
• You must be capable of driving the performance of the job. We get the job done no matter what.
• Expert knowledge and ability to supervise onsite heavy equipment operations (skid steers, mini ex’s, loaders, forklifts, trucks, excavators, etc.) Ability to operate equipment or an aptitude and willingness to learn is a plus.
• Expert knowledge, ability, and understanding of various construction tools and the ability to utilize them (simple hand tools up to various power tools.)
• You must have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all of the involved parties (P.M., Superintendent, Clients, Subcontractors, etc.) and also with your team.
• Ability to effectively coach and mentor your team.
• Ability to perform effective performance evaluations for your team.
• You must be able to maintain daily reports and timesheets and turn them in on time.
• You must be a consistent and dependable asset to your team in your attendance and performance.
