The Workover rig Derrickhand works on the platform high in the derrick of the workover rig. Derrickhands handle the uppermost section of the drilling string as it is brought from or lowered into the wellbore or drill hole. They also play a lead role in stacking the drill pipe as it is tripped out or guiding the pipe as it is reconnected to the pipe string when tripping back into the hole.
High quality, comprehensive training is a hallmark of MBI Energy Services and has been paramount to the safety and success of our employees. MBI’s comprehensive training program includes required classroom and field training for new hires; and recertification training for our existing employees.
MBI’s week-long training program for new employees, New Hire Orientation or NHO, is conducted on a weekly basis and is open to every new MBI employee, regardless of their position at MBI. In addition to this training at our off-site, New Hire Orientation facility, those individuals who have been hired to haul water or oil will receive an additional one-week training at our Training Center.
MBI’s Training Center is located on our own 80-acre tract of land with a facility for classroom training and practical hands-on training, including a full driving course developed to model our work in the field. With dedicated training facilities and trainers who are subject matter experts teaching each course, we are able to provide unparalleled, intensive training for our employees to best equip them to serve our customers and ensure their safety and success in their careers.
